The weeks have flown by and I’m deep into my third trimester at this point. It’s finally hitting me that baby will be here NEXT MONTH! It’s overwhelming, exciting and surreal all at the same time. Here’s the lowdown on the third trimester of my first pregnancy…
What I’m doing: buying baby supplies, prepping for the shower, finalizing my birth plan and assembling items for my hospital bag. I’m also trying to get as much sleep as possible. Gotta enjoy those nice 8-hour stretches before the little one gets here!
What I’m feeling: happy and excited, for the most part. I’ve definitely had moments of anxiety, stress and frustration as big day gets closer. There are some things that I’m seriously missing at the moment, like traveling, horseback riding and hiking. Although it’ll be a challenge to resume these activities with a baby in tow, it’ll be easier than it is now!
What I’m eating: So. Much. CHOCOLATE. Chocolate-covered strawberries, Cadbury Easter eggs, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate bars…I feel like I can’t get enough of it! I think I’ve also been eating more of everything in general, but I guess it’s no surprise that my portion sizes have ballooned to keep up with this growing bump!
What I’m drinking: Water. Can’t get enough of it, pregnant or not!
What I’m excited for: seeing my baby’s face for the first time, enjoying newborn snuggles, and not feeling like an SUV anymore (hallelujah!)
What I’m not so excited for: breastfeeding (maybe I’ll come to love it, but right now it freaks me out!), a crappy sleeping schedule, all the random anxiety/stresses that come with caring for an infant
It’s exciting to know that I’m just days away from embarking on the biggest adventure of my life. We can’t wait to meet you, little one!
